June is a busy month in Parke County...this weekend has a nice lineup of activities. Howard Livingston & the Mile Marke 24 Band performs each day . Voted favorite band of the Florida Keys, his music is now being played on Margaritaville Radio. Location: Parke County 4-H Fairgrounds
Tour beautiful, historic Parke County while driving your own tractor. Each day will be a tour to different areas of the county. All tractors (old & new) and licensed drivers are welcome to participate. No tractors under 10 mph. Cost for both days is $80.00. Saturday only is $55 and Sunday only is $40. Routes are approximately 35 miles each day. Saturday evening an awards dinner will be held at the 4-H Community Building. Camping is available at the fairgrounds. Entry deadline is June 15. The 'Cabin on Mary Lane' is set in one of the nicest wooded areas on Raccoon Lake, on the north end of the lake off the Portland Mills Boat Ramp Road. This beautiful cabin by the lake sleeps up to 8 people. Lots of space and privacy with 3 private bedrooms and 2 full baths. There are large enclosed and open decks overlooking a wooded area on a hill above the lake. Very peaceful country setting, and a firepit area out back to gather round the campfire and catch up on the days activities of exploring, fishing, boating, hiking and more. Master bedroom with private bath. Fully supplied kitchen. Normally rented at $700.00 per week for 4 people, each additional person, $10.00 additional per night.
